What we do
The Gateway EITC Community Coalition provides FREE federal and state tax preparation services for individuals and families earning under $64,000. We are a Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program serving low to moderate income families and individuals, seniors, persons with disabilities, and limited English speaking taxpayers who need tax preparation assistance.

What to bring
WHAT YOU NEED TO BRING TO TAX PREPARATION SITES (click here for complete list):
All Taxpayers
• All income statements, such as W-2’s, 1099’s, Social Security (SSA-1099), SSI statements,
and Schedules K-1, 1099-G (proof of unemployment compensation)
• Social Security Cards or Individual Taxpayer Identification Numbers (ITIN) for all those listed on the tax return
• Valid picture ID for taxpayer and spouse (Driver’s License, State ID, Passport)
• Copy of last year’s tax return
• Bank account and routing numbers for direct deposit (not a deposit slip)
• Intake form - received in the mail, or can be found here
When Applicable
• Proof of child care expenses
• 1098-E student loan interest
• Forms 1098-T from educational institutions
• Form 1095-A (proof of health insurance from Marketplace)
• Form 5498-SA showing HSA contributions
• Form 1099-SA showing HSA distributions
• For MO-PTC/Circuit Breaker – Proof of real estate taxes paid or rent paid , dates, landlord name, address and phone number
• Parcel number (Illinois homeowners only)
• Anything else that says “Important Tax Document”
• If married filing jointly – both spouses must be present to sign

GECC is a 501(C)(3) tax exempt non-profit organization. Donations are eligible for tax deduction based on IRS rules and regulations. Our most recent IRS Form 990 can be accessed here.
